Beau Chene is 0-7 against Breaux Bridge since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Beau Chene Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Breaux Bridge Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Beau Chene comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Beau Chene was beaten by Cecilia 48-3. While losing is never fun, Beau Chene can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Cecilia is ranked 37th).
Meanwhile, even though Kinder scored an imposing 36 points on Thursday, Breaux Bridge still came out on top. Breaux Bridge walked away with a 46-36 win over Kinder.
Breaux Bridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelby Hypolite, who rushed for 109 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Hypolite is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Coddie Noel was in the mix as well, providing Breaux Bridge with two touchdowns.
Beau Chene's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged three points per game. As for Breaux Bridge, their win on Thursday bumped their record up to 3-4.
Beau Chene was taken down by Breaux Bridge 42-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Beau Chene avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
