Basketball Recap: Domiya Foreman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hope Academy over Forest Lake Academy

Hope Academy lost against Forest Lake Academy back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hope Academy Trojan Tigers fell to the Forest Lake Academy Panthers 40-34. The Trojan Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hope Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Domiya Foreman, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Foreman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least six every time she's taken the court this season. Mackenzie Brown was another key player, putting up ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forest Lake Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Vazquez, who went 9 of 20 on her way to 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Maynard, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Hope Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Forest Lake Academy, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Hope Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-27 win against Lake Minneola on the 10th. As for Forest Lake Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-35 victory against Foundation Academy on the 12th.
