The La Salle Falcons had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by Gladstone/Riverdale at home to the tune of 44-0. Considering La Salle has won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Manu Tanzambi had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Paul Skoro was another key contributor, rushing for 40 yards and a touchdown.
La Salle's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Parkrose and 1-8 Molalla (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 29.6% over those games). As for Gladstone/Riverdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
La Salle will look to defend their home field on Friday against Marshfield at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Marshfield is ranked 65th, while La Salle is ranked 57th). As for Gladstone/Riverdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Henley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
