The Bentonville West Wolverines were the 64-61 winner over the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bentonville West fell 54-41 to Blue Valley Northwest on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Bentonville West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 78th in Arkansas, while Blue Valley Northwest is ranked second in Kansas).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blue Valley Northwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Fritz, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fritz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Klein, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Bentonville West and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Blue Valley Northwest, the win was the 16th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Bentonville West will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Springdale at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Blue Valley Northwest will take on Van Horn in a holiday battle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at.
