Groton had won four straight games and Jerica Locke did her part to make it five on Thursday. Everything went the Tigers' way against the Roncalli Cavaliers as they made off with a 3-0 win thanks in part to Locke, who had 17 digs and five assists. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

While Groton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-18.

Groton's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Roncalli, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Groton will venture away from home to square off against Clark/Willow Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Roncalli, they will host Hamlin on Saturday.
