Lawrence County has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Central Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Lawrence County's 16-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They had to suffer through a rough 67-34 loss at the hands of Lexington.
Despite the loss, Lawrence County got a solid performance out of Ava Boyll, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Boyll scored a full 38.2% of Lawrence County's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 50-45 to Hardin County. Central has not had much luck with Hardin County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Cold Springs' win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Lawrence County's loss dropped theirs to 1-2.
Lawrence County took their victory against Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 47-27. Will Lawrence County repeat their success, or does Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
