Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Gaither recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Jefferson will be playing at home against Gaither at 10:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jefferson took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Leto with a sharp 17-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won nine in a row.

Madisen Fleming was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Amaris Dominguez was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Amaya Argilagos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Gaither made easy work of Tampa Bay Tech on Thursday and carried off an 18-4 win.
Like Jefferson, Gaither also got a great game from a two-way player: Kacey Wilkes. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Wilkes was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Russell, who scored five runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jeivany Taveras, who scored three runs while going 1-for-5.
Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Gaither, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Jefferson's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. Jefferson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Gaither, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Jefferson continue to outrun the ball?
Jefferson might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Gaither in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
