Whitefish Bay and Nicolet are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Blue Dukes are taking a road trip to take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Whitefish Bay will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Whitefish Bay had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Martin Luther on Friday. The Blue Dukes blew past the Spartans 18-4. That looming 18-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Dukes yet this season.
Abby Fay made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jane Wallace was incredible, firing off two triples, five RBI, and three runs while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ansley Elia, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Whitefish Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Nicolet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Slinger, falling 14-2. On the bright side, the two- run performance marked the Knights' highest-scoring contest to date.
Victoria Jewell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.
Whitefish Bay has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Nicolet, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything went Whitefish Bay's way against Nicolet in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Whitefish Bay made off with a 17-2 win. Will the Blue Dukes repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
