The Alpine Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Denver City 65-25. Alpine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  40-14.
 Despite the  defeat, Alpine saw an underclassman step up:  Karolina Castillo  scored 15 points along with 4  steals. Castillo scored a full 60% of Alpine's points, the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Collete Fowlkes, who  scored 2 points along with 5  rebounds and 4  steals.
 Alpine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Denver City, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
 Alpine's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bowie at 8:00  p.m.  on December 7th. Bowie is coming into the  match on a three-game losing streak. As for Denver City, they will square off against Caprock at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday. Caprock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Denver City in Texas (Caprock is ranked 227th, while Denver City is ranked 807th).
