Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 54-38 bruising from the Fighting 59ers on Friday. Lake Station Edison's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Leading Andrean to victory were Ashlee Evans and Lindsay Arcella. Evans scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, while Arcella almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arcella has scored all season.
Lake Station Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Andrean, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.
Lake Station Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Andrean is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Illiana Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
