Roosevelt's Billy Nelson recorded the longest rushing play in 5A Portland this season in his game against Jefferson last week. Nelson ran for 85 yards on the play and finished with 132 on the day as his team bested the Democrats.
Wilson extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Madison, 30-22. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Trojans.
Roosevelt's Kimane Domena and Antonio Bella have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Domena has thrown for 1064 yards this season, while Bella, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 41 catches for 812 yards. Wilson's Cory Hincks leads the league in rushing yards with 1203.
A big matchup in 5A Portland this week will be when Cleveland takes on Ken Duilio's team. The Warriors are currently in fourth, while the Trojans are in first.
Christian Swain's team took down Jefferson 57-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Domena threw for 71 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 160 yards in the win.
