A Season-Best Performance from Zereian Quarles Leads Pebble Hills over Coronado
Zereian Quarles produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Pebble Hills to the win on Friday. Quarles rushed for 274 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards.
Coronado had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Quarles it was a similar story. Quarles rushed for 174 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry the last time he and the Thunderbirds duked it out back in September of 2023.

Steven Galindo Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Eastlake was led to victory by Steven Galindo, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Galindo rushed for 241 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. Eastlake is 2-1 when Galindo posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
If the past is any indication, Galindo could be in store for another big game when he takes on Socorro on Thursday. Galindo rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in September of 2023.

Damian Briano Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Montwood got the W thanks in part to Damian Briano playing the best football he has all season. Briano threw for 345 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
The victory snapped Montwood's winning streak at six games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record. Briano and Montwood will challenge Pebble Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Powers Made His Presence Known in Franklin's 46-42 Defeat
Ernie Powers continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 138 rushing yards. He rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 64 yards.
For the season, Powers has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 160.7 rushing yards per game.

Dorian Jaramillo Dazzles in Pebble Hills Win
The second Pebble Hills player making an appearance here is Dorian Jaramillo, and for good reason. He forced a fumble and made 14 total tackles.
If history really does repeat itself, Jaramillo might just drop another big game when he faces off against Montwood on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jaramillo saw the Rams), he made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
