It was a good run, but the Somerset Academy Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 77-59 bruising from Miami Country Day. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Somerset Academy still got an impressive performance from Jahlon Blain, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Blain is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Anderson, who scored 11 points.
It was another big night for Herbert Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds for Miami Country Day. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Reid, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Somerset Academy's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-5. As for Miami Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Ferguson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 995 points over their last 14 games. As for Miami Country Day, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Specially Fit Academy at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Specially Fit Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
