Excel Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-54 W against the Rockmart Yellowjackets. Those 58 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Excel Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason McKinney out in front who went 7-for-13 en route to 19 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of DaMir McBride, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Excel Christian Academy's record is now 7-3. As for Rockmart, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Excel Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakwood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockmart, they will challenge North Cobb Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 75.8 points per game this season.
