Tomahawk is 0-10 against Mosinee since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tomahawk Hatchets will head out on the road to face off against the Mosinee Indians at 7:15 p.m. Tomahawk is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-47, which was the final score in Tomahawk's tilt against Lakeland on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Tomahawk can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while Lakeland is ranked 221st).
Meanwhile, Mosinee stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northland Pines 75-45 on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mosinee.
Landen Thomer and Keagen Jirschele were among the main playmakers for Mosinee as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds and the latter scored 22 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jirschele pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Treve Stoffel, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Tomahawk's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18-1. As for Mosinee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Tomahawk was taken down by Mosinee 94-26 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Tomahawk avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
