Snake River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a 60-44 bruising from the Kimberly Bulldogs. One positive for the Panthers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Kimberly found their leader in freshman Brooklyn Verwey, who went 14 of 28 en route to 31 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Ward, who posted eight points and five rebounds.
Snake River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Kimberly, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Snake River will head out to challenge Bear Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kimberly, they will square off against Gooding at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gooding will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Kimberly surely won't give up without a fight.
