FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. - After three lead changes,
Centerville (Ind.) took the lead for good when they ran for a touchdown with 3:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to upset
Northeastern (Fountain City, Ind.) 28-22 on Saturday.
After trailing 14-8 at the half, the Knights went ahead on a two-point conversion with 2:00 to go in the third.
By the end of the third, Centerville found itself trailing by two points as Northeastern captured the lead thanks to three scores in the quarter. NHS scored on a touchdown run by
Kelsy Kirkland, a Kirkland touchdown run and a two-point conversion in the quarter.
A 13-12 Centerville victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Bulldogs, who lost to Union City last week, 20-12. The loss comes after Northeastern defeated Tri 42-22 last week.
Northeastern (4-2) goes up against Union County in a Tri-Eastern game matchup next week, while Centerville (3-3) locks horns with Hagerstown also in a Tri-Eastern game.
