Verbena has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Maplesville Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Verbena has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Verbena suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Loachapoka at home and fell 75-43. Verbena has struggled against Loachapoka recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Maplesville strolled past Billingsley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 53-38.
Maplesville found their leader in underclassman Nehemiah McCary, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCary has scored all season. Jonathan Wilson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Verbena has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Maplesville, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Verbena might still be hurting after the 34-14 loss they got from Maplesville when the teams last played on January 3rd. Can Verbena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
