Heartland II recap October 8, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Heartland II this week, Montoursville beat Lewisburg 27-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Warriors.
Loyalsock Township. moved up to 183 from 220 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lancers were able to move up by topping Troy 40-21.
Kyle Datres provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Loyalsock Township. bested the Trojans. He completed 4 passes for 66 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 157 yards.
Treyvon White was the best receiver in the league this week as Mount Carmel topped Central Columbia. White racked up 8 receptions for 126 yards.
Justin Van Fleet's team's Datres and Philip Krizan led Heartland II in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Datres has thrown for 863 yards this season, while Krizan has 27 catches for 378 yards. Montoursville's Cameron Ott leads the league in rushing yards with 999.
Ott of the J.C. Keefer's team is just 1 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 82 carries Ott has put up 999 yards this year.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Lancers' Krizan goes up against Hughesville's Trey Smith.
Next week's game between Loyalsock Township. and the Spartans will feature a good passing match up as Datres will test his arm against Smith's defensive ability.
At the moment, the Lancers are in second, while Hughesville is in sixth.
Loyalsock Township. took down Troy 40-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Datres ran for 157 yards during the win.
