There's no place like home for the Immaculate Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged Northwest Catholic out 42-40.
Immaculate got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Callie Miller out in front who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Miller has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Kristina Asmani was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Immaculate's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Northwest Catholic, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.
Immaculate will head out on the road to take on New Milford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. New Milford will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Immaculate surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northwest Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Southington at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully Southington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
