The Hueneme Vikings can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Villanova Prep 49-22 on the road. The victory was just what Hueneme needed coming off of a 72-47 loss in their prior contest.
Leading Hueneme to victory were Jacob Cunningham and Chris Juanillo. Cunningham scored 10 points, while Juanillo scored 13 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Juanillo has scored at least 25% of Hueneme's points. Another player making a difference was Ignatio Saavedra, who scored 6 points.
Hueneme's win bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Villanova Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hueneme will face off against Nordhoff at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nordhoff is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Villanova Prep will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Newbury Park Adventist at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th.
