The Clearfield Falcons won the last time they faced the Ogden Tigers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Clearfield took down Ogden 63-48. With that victory, Clearfield brought their scoring average up to 56 points per game.
Clearfield can attribute much of their success to Isabelle Wyaskett, who scored 7 points along with 10 assists and 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayla Kearns, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Ogden lost, one person who can't be blamed is Salote Tonga. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with 7 rebounds. Megan Beus was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Clearfield's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Ogden, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearfield will take on Taylorsville at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Taylorsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Clearfield is ranked 14th). As for Ogden, they will play host again and welcome Bonneville, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
