Basketball Recap: Southern Wells Comes Up Short

Southern Wells dropped down to 6-2 on Saturday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They were dealt an 86-41 loss at the hands of the Bluffton Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 84-31 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Southern Wells' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gracie Reeves, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points, and Cadence Watkins, who posted nine points. Remi Holmes also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

As for Bluffton, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Konley Ault had another great game (as she tends to do), shooting 68% from the field en route to 32 points along with eight steals and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 45.9% shooting accuracy. Khloe Dick was another key player, going 6-for-10 on her way to 20 points.

Southern Wells wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-55 defeat against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on the 9th. As for Bluffton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-22 win against Wabash on the 9th.
