The Pen Argyl Green Knights lost against the Saucon Valley Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Pen Argyl fell 43-35 to Saucon Valley. Pen Argyl has struggled against Saucon Valley recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Pen Argyl's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Martini, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Soos, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pen Argyl smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saucon Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braden Weiss, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Robertson, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Pen Argyl's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Saucon Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Pen Argyl will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Northern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m. Northern Lehigh is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Saucon Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Wilson Area at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
