The Charlotte Latin Hawks will face off against the Sun Valley Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Charlotte Latin's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six matches.
On Saturday, everything went Charlotte Latin's way against Cary Academy as Charlotte Latin made off with a 19-1 win. Considering the Hawks have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sydney Thune made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.
In other batting news, Talia Hawa was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lila McConnell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Charlotte Latin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sun Valley lost 12-1 to Covenant Day on Friday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sun Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaida Bates (2026), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Bates (2026)'s first of the season.
Charlotte Latin pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Sun Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Sun Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Charlotte Latin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .588. It's a different story for Sun Valley, though, as they've only averaged .296. Will they be able to contain Charlotte Latin's hitters?
Charlotte Latin suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Sun Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2017. Can Charlotte Latin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
