Raton is 0-10 against Robertson since June of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Robertson will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Raton extended their winning streak to five on Monday. The Tigers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against Pecos. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since March 28, 2024.

Azden Romero made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Raton is 4-2 when Romero allows two or fewer hits, but 3-6 otherwise. Romero was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Middlebrook, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Robertson sidestepped West Las Vegas for a 4-3 win. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by just one run.
Connor Bonney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Robertson's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Ortiz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Raton pushed their record up to 7-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Robertson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Raton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. However, it's not like Robertson struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Raton suffered a grim 16-7 defeat to Robertson in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
