The Alta Loma Braves are taking a road trip to take on the Los Altos Conquerors at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Alta Loma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Alta Loma will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Wednesday, then bounced right back against Colony on Wednesday. The Braves blew past the Titans 10-4. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Donica Meyndert tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Isabella Galindo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Ava Salazar also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Alta Loma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Los Altos was able to grind out a solid victory over South Hills on Wednesday, taking the game 4-1.
Kaylahni Duenas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brianah Alejandre, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Hannah Vargas, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Los Altos is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Alta Loma, their record now sits at 10-7.
Alta Loma couldn't quite get it done against Los Altos in their previous matchup last Wednesday as they fell 6-2. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
