Basketball Recap: Hardee's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Avon Park wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Hardee, they should've done a better job of containing Alexandra Jackson. The Hardee Wildcats walked away with a 44-34 win over the Avon Park Red Devils on Monday thanks in part to Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Tylia Graham was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Avon Park lost, don't look at Tytianna Allen. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points and four steals. That was a full 52.9% of Avon Park's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaymara Jackson, who put up seven points and six rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Hardee and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Avon Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Hardee won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northeast at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hardee is facing Northeast at the right time seeing as Northeast is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Avon Park and Moore Haven will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
