Lehi has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Corner Canyon Chargers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lehi had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 52-21 victory over Davis. The result was nothing new for Lehi, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Jett Niu had an outrageously good game as he threw for 368 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in two rushing scores. Grayson Brousseau also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Corner Canyon had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.2 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They took down Lone Peak 35-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Corner Canyon was the (much) better team in the second half.
Isaac Wilson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 204 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Bryton Brady, who gained 89 total yards and two touchdowns.
Lehi's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for Corner Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as Lehi and Corner Canyon have no problem gaining yardage. Lehi has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 352.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like Corner Canyon struggles in that department as they've been even better at 474.8 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them. Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other football content.
Lehi won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in September of 2022, slipping by Corner Canyon 25-24. Will Lehi repeat their success, or does Corner Canyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
