After a string of four wins, Lost River's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Illinois Valley Cougars by a score of 6-4. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Lost River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Guthrie, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Beau Sanders also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lost River's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Illinois Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lost River will challenge rival Bonanza at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Illinois Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Riddle at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
