The Dolores Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgway. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dolores in their matchups with Ridgway: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Dolores lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mark Palate. Despite the final result, he scored 35 points along with five rebounds. Palate continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Koby McClellan was another key contributor, scoring no points along with six assists and three steals.
Dolores has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Ridgway, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Nucla the next time they take the court. Ridgway will head out to face Nucla at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, while Dolores will host them at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
