Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland Park). They blew past the Maine West Warriors 74-45 on Friday. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Warriors are ranked 409th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Highland Park's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Maine West, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Vernon Hills the next time they take the court. Maine West will head out to face Vernon Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Highland Park will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th.
