After only seven points in their last contest, Wyalusing Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against North Penn-Mansfield on Friday. Wyalusing Valley put the hurt on North Penn-Mansfield with a sharp 37-16 victory.
Towanda fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They claimed a resounding 55-7 victory over Tunkhannock at home. With Towanda ahead 26-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
It was another big night for Rylie Vanderpool, who rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 105 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. Tahshon Garner was another key contributor, gaining 97 total yards and two touchdowns.
Towanda's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Edan Flynn and his two sacks.
Wyalusing Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Towanda, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
