The Cross County Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a rough 55-35 defeat at the hands of Harrisburg. Cross County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Harrisburg apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harrisburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eastin Gray, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Gray continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jayvin Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Cross County's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-8. As for Harrisburg, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ridgefield Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Harrisburg will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Palestine-Wheatley at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
