Avah Oertel posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Saturday. As a matter of fact, she turned in her biggest game of the season, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Oertel and Princeton will welcome Erie-Prophetstown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Panthers thanks in part to Oertel: she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
