Even though the Castleford Wolves scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, the Hagerman Pirates still came out on top. Hagerman sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 win over Castleford. For Hagerman, this counts as revenge for the 68-36 loss Castleford walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Ky Kendall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 4 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Alex Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Hagerman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Castleford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
Hagerman won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Richfield at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Richfield is coming into the matchup with eight straight wins on the road, meaning Hagerman will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. Castleford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
