If The Viewmont Vikings were feeling good off their 46-18 takedown of the Clearfield Falcons last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Viewmont suffered a rough 35-13 loss at the hands of Maple Mountain on Friday.
Banks Jackson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Maple Mountain, rushing for 136 yards on only seven carries, while also throwing for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Nic Hofheins was in the mix as well, providing Maple Mountain with two touchdowns.
Viewmont has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Maple Mountain, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Viewmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Maple Mountain will square off against Box Elder at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Box Elder is ranked 20th, while Maple Mountain is ranked 33rd).
