Winchester Thurston will take on the Leechburg Blue Devils at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a eight-game winning streak alive.
On Tuesday, Winchester Thurston needed a bit of extra time to put away Rochester. They had just enough and edged out the Rams  7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory Winchester Thurston has posted  since April 24, 2024.
 The team  relied heavily on  Mason Witten, who  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run. That's the most  doubles  he has posted since back in March.  Lucas Picher was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with two  runs and one  double.
Meanwhile, Leechburg got the win against Aquinas Academy  on Tuesday by a conclusive  16-1. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven  runs or more this season.
 Garrett Jones made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news, Leechburg got a  massive  performance out of  Rocco Vigna, who  went 2-for-4 with three  runs, four  RBI,  and one  triple. That  triple was  Vigna's first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Chase Henry, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Leechburg  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in five consecutive  games.
 Winchester Thurston's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-1. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Leechburg, their record now sits at 8-1.
 Both Winchester Thurston and Leechburg just can't seem to miss. Winchester Thurston has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 10.7  hits per game. However, it's not like Leechburg struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 4.1  hits.
