Oriskany had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past Sherburne-Earlville with a 20-14 victory.
Oriskany took a little while to warm up, but they followed up a slow first quarter with 14 points in the second. Sherburne-Earlville came up with 8 to make it 14-8 heading into the break. The other side of the ball was dominant for Oriskany in the second half, holding Sherburne-Earlville to a measly 6 points. This was the first game for both teams, giving Oriskany a 1-0 record and starting Sherburne-Earlville off at 0-1.
Oriskany will be staying on the road next week, facing off against South Lewis. Sherburne-Earlville will stay at home against Altmar-Parish-Williamstown at 7:00 PM.
