Garinger is 0-6 against Providence since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Garinger Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Providence Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Garinger is ranked 189th, while Providence is ranked 172nd).
Garinger suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 72-16 defeat at the hands of South Pointe. Garinger was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-12.
Meanwhile, Providence came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past East Mecklenburg 65-41. Providence's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Garinger's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Providence, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8.
Garinger came up short against Providence in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 45-40. Can Garinger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
