The Auburn Mountainview Lions will be playing at home against the Auburn Riverside Ravens at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Auburn Mountainview can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Kentlake at home to the tune of 88-42. Auburn Mountainview's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Auburn Mountainview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sebastian Arius led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six assists and four steals. Arius also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Mande Wanlemvo was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Kent-Meridian scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Auburn Riverside still came out on top. Auburn Riverside claimed a resounding 87-56 victory over Kent-Meridian at home. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Auburn Riverside this season.
Auburn Mountainview's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Auburn Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Everything went Auburn Mountainview's way against Auburn Riverside in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Auburn Mountainview made off with a 76-54 victory.
