The Pearsall Mavericks are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Poteet Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Pearsall's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
After a 6-2 finish the last time they played, Pearsall and Hondo decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Pearsall fell 2-0 to Hondo on Friday. Pearsall has not had much luck with Hondo recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, sadly, Poteet is still looking for their first win of the season after nine contests. Their tough 8-0 defeat to Floresville last Friday might stick with them for a while.
Pearsall's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored one goal over those six contests. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything went Pearsall's way against Poteet when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as Pearsall made off with a 5-1 win. Will Pearsall repeat their success, or does Poteet have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
