It was a good run, but The New Lothrop Hornets unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 29-28 to Ithaca.
Ithaca's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Conn led the charge by throwing for 248 yards and four touchdowns. Ryley White was another key contributor, picking up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
New Lothrop's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Ithaca, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 11-0.
New Lothrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ithaca will head out on the road to face off against Ubly at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ubly knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Ithaca likes a good challenge.
