Rome Free Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Proctor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Black Knights will take on the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Rome Free Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Rome Free Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 19-run drubbing they dealt Holland Patent on Thursday. The Black Knights blew past the Golden Knights 20-1. The Black Knights have beaten the Golden Knights the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Golden Knights has come to flipping the script.
Madison Safin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Rome Free Academy got a massive performance out of Gianna Greer, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Kenidee Campbell was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Rome Free Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Proctor came up short against Whitesboro on Monday, falling 13-3. The Raiders have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Rome Free Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Proctor, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Rome Free Academy's way against Proctor when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Rome Free Academy made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Black Knights repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
