Cumberland hadn't done well against Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Pirates walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Titans. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Cumberland never let Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-9.

MacKenzie Claybaugh paced Cumberland's offense, picking up seven kills. Claybaugh got some help from Alysa Dittamore and her 15 assists. Dittamore was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Cumberland's victory bumped their record up to 14-17-1. As for Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-17.

Coming up, Cumberland will square off against Altamont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Indians have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh, they will challenge Unity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
