Softball Recap: Webster Schroeder Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Webster Schroeder never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Fairport Red Raiders. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Liana DeValder was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, Webster Schroeder got a massive performance out of Kinsley Keil, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Emma Juliano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Webster Schroeder was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairport only posted a batting average of .000.

The victory was the third in a row for Webster Schroeder, bringing their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Fairport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webster Schroeder will face off against Bishop Kearney at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Kings will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fairport, they will square off against Victor at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
