The Tradition Prep Pirates pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 79-57 loss at the hands of South Fork. Even though they lost, Tradition Prep's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Tradition Prep saw an underclassman step up: Aydan Fields scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Harris, who scored 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Fork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Chang, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and seven steals. It was the first time this season that Chang posted eight or more assists. Loghan Downie was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
Tradition Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for South Fork, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Tradition Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Fork, they will face off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully South Fork likes a good challenge.
