Leadership Academy hasn't had much luck against Bethany Community recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Leadership Academy Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Bethany Community Wolves at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Leadership Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Carver with a sharp 14-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won nine in a row.
Trent Bryant was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Clay Smith, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Bethany Community waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Lions as they made off with a 28-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jesse Tucker made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tucker was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Landen Long looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Bethany Community got a massive performance out of Tripp White, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. White also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Cohen Brame was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.9 runs. As for Bethany Community, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
