It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Alvarado Indians had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 49-27 margin over Kennedale. The result was nothing new for Alvarado, who have now won five matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Cardea Collier was his usual excellent self, rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 223 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes. Collier was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarcus Belton, who picked up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The victory makes it two in a row for Alvarado and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Kennedale, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Alvarado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kennedale also has no future games currently scheduled.
