The Central Bears''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Umatilla on the road by a decisive 40-26 margin. Central lost against Umatilla in their previous head to head back in October of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-14 score last time.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sebastian Valerio-estevez, who picked up 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Gaynor, who gained 104 total yards and a touchdown.
Logan Bowling went supernova for Umatilla, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Bowling was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Dallas Cottle and his 92 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Umatilla's win.
Central's defeat was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 2-8. More embarrasing are the teams that make up that slump in performance: Umatilla, Weeki Wachee, and Wesley Chapel. As for Umatilla, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Umatilla also has no future games currently scheduled.
